Emily Hunsberger

Emily Hunsberger is the founder of Tertulia, a bilingual communications consultancy that supports the use of Spanish as a vibrant language for culture, commerce, and community building in West Michigan and beyond. A lifelong speaker of Spanish as a second language, she has cultivated a unique set of skills to help companies and organizations build bridges in response to linguistic and cultural challenges. Over the course of her career, Emily has applied these skills to support employers and clients both in the United States and Latin America, developing multilingual and multicultural communications materials related to adult education, healthcare, entrepreneurship, immigration, sustainable development, philanthropy, and the arts. Emily holds a B.A. in Spanish from Cornell University and an M.A. in Spanish and Bilingual Education from George Mason University. She is also the creator, producer, and host of Tertulia, a series of conversations in Spanish about Spanish-speaking culture in the United States, available at tertuliapodcast.com. She is currently bringing her many skills and insights to RIUSS Research Development Committee.
