French-Canadian, Spanish-Mexican and 100 percent American, he is a retired senior career Foreign Service Officer, a former corporate and nonprofit executive, a writer, thinker and longtime Latino activist. He is a co-founder of the Research Institute of United States Spanish (RIUSS) and a partner in Latin Insights, a market, political and opinion research firm.
