RIUSS invites you to participate in an exciting, unprecedented endeavor for translators, journalists, linguists, professors of translation studies and other Spanish-language stakeholders. While most sociolinguistic studies have been focused on Hispanics as speakers, we are interested in Hispanics as readers of information and communication. We live in the Information Era and we need to refocus on the writing and reading needs of the second most-spoken language in the United States.

As we recognize the basic premise that most information and communication in Spanish in the United States is the product of translation, we invite you to join us as our profession becomes an important catalyst in powering the new standards of what is becoming the written Spanish of the United States.
