RIUSS Launches Journal

RIUSS Launches Journal

The Board of Directors of RIUSS is pleased to announce that it is launching the RIUSS Journal to give greater voice to professionals from different disciplines who identify with our mission and address issues related to United States Spanish. This decision responds to the high level of receptivity that our mission and initiatives have found among scholars, educators, administrators and, in general, persons interested in the future of United States Spanish.

At this point, we envision publishing the journal online about every six months.  The schedule will depend, of course, on the availability of material and our volunteer time to put it together.  Furthermore, it will complement the RIUSS Newsletter.  The first issue of the RIUSS Journal will feature:

  • Lenguaje claro: logros y retos de una política de derechos (Plain Language: Achievements and Challenges of a Rights Policy), by María Betulia Pedraza Pedraza
  • The Beginning of Health Literacy – An Interview with Yolanda Partida of Hablamos Juntos
  • Spanish Translation for the US – What Are the Challenges?, by María Cornelio
  • Gestación de la norma lingüística hispanounidense – by Leticia Molinero
  • Abstracts
